About Renee Dunn, CPACC

Renee Dunn is the Principal Consultant for Elevage Digital.  She has been a web developer for over 25 years. Shortly after starting Elevage Digital in 2022, she participated in WordPress Accessibility Day and was saddened by the extent of issues that exist on websites across the Internet. Over 96% of website homepages contain accessibility failures. Making a website accessible is a complex, detail oriented process. Renee is naturally drawn to problem solving and bringing order to chaos, so accessibility testing and remediation felt like a natural niche.

Throughout her professional career, Renee has gravitated to working with non-profits, public service and mission-driven organizations. They understand that improving website accessibility and usability helps everyone and it aligns with their organization’s values.

Over the years, Renee has seen well-meaning organizations add accessibility overlays and toolbars to their site because they were crunched for time, had a limited budget and thought they were doing a good thing. While these products claim to solve all of your accessibility needs, improving accessibility is like learning a new skill. There’s no “easy button” that let’s you skip the hard work.

Understanding the tension that exists between time, budget and the need for results, Renee helps organizations accomplish quick wins while simultaneously creating a custom plan for long-term, sustained accessibility that reduces their legal liability and has the potential to expand their website conversions.

She has earned her Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals.
